So this has been my life for the past 3 days......

She's not quite two yet, and she's not quite verbal yet, but I thought I would take a shot at it. Surprisingly she's doing really well. The second day she only had one accident in her underwear and she came and told me right away. When I ask her where the pee-pee goes she points to the potty or says "potty" Right now I have been putting her on the potty every half hour or so because she doesn't go there on her own, except a few times. Some people may say i'm training myself and not her but I think that's a lie. I may have to remind her to go, but she's the one peeing in the potty on her own. Besides, I'd rather "train" her early so she gets used to going. And i'm spending a lot less on diapers and a lot less laundry on cloth diapers. Trenton didn't really get potty training till he was 2 and half, but Ava is catching on very quick. We will be home the next 3 days straight so it will be a good time to do some intense potty training. Hopefully by the new year we will be diaper free!
The downside is we have had to baby proof the potty area. Meaning, I havce to take the toilet paper off the toilet paper roll because Ava loves to unravel it while she's sitting there. The toilet lid cover is constantly coming off because she plays with that too. And don't leave the trash can anywhere within reaching distance, because trash is much more fun to play with than books or toys. Also, we have had to run the heat more because going to the bathroom every half hour and pulling her pants and underwear up everytime is obnoxious, especially when she insists on taking them COMPLETELY off every time. So i've been leaving her pants off and she just wears socks and underwear around the house....so it has to be warm.
But overall....I'm glad she's taking an interest in the potty. I'm so done with diapers....at least for now.

I say go for it Janell. She's trying and willing to try. I couldn't wait to get you kids out of cloth diapers and you all learned early to be potty trained. I think most people who cloth diapered their kids potty trained early and I think the kids didn't mind either because who likes wearing those stinkin' wet things any way!!! Keep up the good work -both of you. :)
