We started our Creation unit today in school. Trenton learned all about the first day of Creation and what God created on the first day, LIGHT! We read the creation story in his childrens Bible and then did a little project to understand dark and light. I sealed up a box and cut a little eye hole on one side and had Trenton look through the hole and tell me what he sees(obviously darkness). then we cut a hole in the other side and shined a flashlight through the hole while he was looking through the eye hole and then we saw light. He liked doing that because he LOVES flashlights. :) Then we sang a little song about the First day of Creation. When we were done he said he wanted to go and teach it to his friends in Sunday School.
We also learned letter Dd today and how to write it and what sound it makes and we reviewed letters A,B and C and numbers 1-10. Next week we have off for Christmas break! So that will give me a chance to catch up on some planning for the next month. The rest of the week we will finish the creation unit and learn 2 more letters and 2 new numbers.
