Well it's been a while since I updated this. We have been very busy around here...and sick. I started off being sick with a bad cold/cough. Then Trenton decided to catch it along with Barak. BOth of them are still sick and Trenton's turned into Croup. We did 2 nights of Trenton getting up every other hour wheezing and couldn't catch his breath which resulted in him throwing up. Poor boy. so I took him to the doctor and sure enough he had croup. They gave him some liquid steroids and he was 80% better after 1 dose. he slept though the next night(except for another night terror) and by sunday morning he was a lot better aside from a small cough. Ava on the other hand is starting to get that cough too...it is not as bad as the croup cough, and hopefully will not turn into croup either. we had enough issues with her last fall/winter with ear infections and I do not want a repeat of that again!! Some kids are just prone to those ear infections and get them all the time. Hopefully she won't though, and we can avoid the ear tubes conversation with the doctor again.

As I mentioned above Trenton has been having night terrors which if you don't know what that is, it's a lot different than night mares. He will wake up crying and not be really awake. he doesn't know where he is and can't carry on a converstaion or say what's wrong. He will cry for a few mintues then lay down and go instantly to sleep. He doen'st remember anything about it in the morning which is great because it's been happening nightly for about 2 weeks. We have found that they seem to always happen about an hour after he goes to bed so we try to remember to wake him up and get him out of that deep sleep before it happens. I've had luck doing that a few times but if I forget he will most likely have a night terror. it's kind of scary because he just cries and shakes and there is nothing you can do but sit there and hold him till it's over. you can't wake him up at all when it happens. So hopefully this will be short lived. I have a few girlfriends who's kids have gone through it as well and it lasted as short as a few weeks to as long as 6 months. I wish I knew what caused them...

Halloween. It was not the same this year. Halloween was on a monday and that is baraks school night. he has class from 6-10pm. so he did not get to be home this year for it which was a bummer because He loves halloween. so I took the kids out for an hour trick or treating to our neighbors on our street. then we headed back home to pass out candy. Trenton loves to pass out candy to the kids. at one point he was putting candy in and trying to take a different piece out. I think he was trading. :)
Trenton showing off the pumpkins

Barak carving the pumpkin.....Hey I did the little one!!

Trenton and Ava enjoying the pumpkins although neither of them wanted anything to do with pulling out the guts.

It's all fun and games untill someone gets hurt......A fireman or a pirate? that was the big dilema an hour before getting dressed up. he finally settled for a pirate again. No matter how much he protests, next year he is not going to be a pirate again! As for Ava, she's too little to care that she is wearing a hand me down.

LOOK FAMILIAR??

TRENTON 2009
I remember wearing hand me down costumes from my brothers and sisters when I was growing up so why waste a perfectly good dragon costume? you can bet the next schimp kid will be wearing this too.

Barak is gearing up for the grueling work schedule of Festival of Lights. 14 hour days at work will be starting soon. he will be working his normal office hours then staying for the Festival of Lights rehearsals and shows. So basically he will be home around 10 or 11 each night and go to sleep then do it all over again. There is a week of rehearsals then a couple weeks in Dec. where there is a show every other day or every few days. sometimes on the weekend there is 2 shows a day. so I won't be seeing him much. plus he is still doing class on monday night for his master's degree.

This year we will be doing Thanksgiving alone for the first time in 7 years. We are not going anywhere and I will be learning how to cook a turkey. I can't believe i have not ever cooked a turkey?? Maybe I need to go pick up Julia Child's JOy of Cooking cook book. We are looking forward to being home though and spending time with the kids and being together.

They both look really cute - I'm glad TJ decided to let you paint the beard on his face.. I'm sure no one made fun of him lol

where was the pumpkin place you went to? Love the tractor rides. What a smart boy TJ is to put in a candy and take a different one out! LOL
Just buy a turkey bag and cook the turkey. It makes the most delicious moist turkey-if you decide to do that.
