So Monday morning started out fine. Monday is my shopping day for grocerys, and household stuff and I was going to do some christmas shopping as well. And before I left with Trenton, Barak says "Your minivan is making a thunking sound like something may be wrong with the transmission"
me: "great. so i'm probably gonna break down somewhere and have to call AAA"
Barak: "maybe."
So we left anyway, and Barak went to work. We totally Jinxed ourselves by having that conversation. WHile I was driving it started snowing pretty hard. i had no idea that it was supposed to snow. I rarely watch the news and the only time i hear the weather is on talk radio or the internet. So, anyway, i thought I would be fine. i've been driving in snow worse than that since I was 16. Well i was drving up a back access road between walmart and aldi's and i went to go around the curve and my whole van slid and I hit the curb. i was only going like 15 mph, but I knew something went bad because of the noise when I tried to pull off the curb. it was a loud grinding sound in the front right side where I hit the curb. so I called barak and he said try to drive it across the street to Discount Tires and have them look at the tire and underneath, but it was just not drivable so he came out to look at it and we ended up calling AAA to tow it. There is $600 of damage and they won't even know if there is more damage than that untill they fix that part. soooo...we have to pay that out of pocket just to see if its going to need more repair. Great. I was BARELY moving, how could it be that bad?! so it won't be fixed till Monday and i'm out of car for a week. Great. I think we are going to sell it once its fixed and get something better because the transmission may be going on it anyway. Insurance says we are probably better off paying up to $1000 out of pocket for repairs or our insurance will go up 400-500 hundred dollars a year. great... what bad timing for major car repairs!! and just last week our dryer broke and we had to buy a new motor for it.
they say troubles come in 3's so we've had 2....just waiting on the third one now....
I've been busy working on some custom Longie orders. here is the latest:

Barak has Festival of Lights coming up next month. So I won't be seeing much of him. For those of you who have no idea what that is check out this link http://calvarychurch.gospelcom.net/festival/
We also got FREE tickets for December 23rd for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show in Grandrapids!! We have been told that it is a really great show. baraks boss has been a few times. we are going with about 4 or 5 other couples from barak's work and we all have special box seating. its gonna be fun! Now i just have to find a babysitter!

so sorry about your van! We are a one car family so I know the frustration.
I LOVE the cargo pocket on the longies!! SOOOO CUTE!
Maybe, just maybe, this time trouble will only come in 2's?
Hi Janell,
Sorry about the van trouble. Bummer!
Matt's brother played with Transiberian orchestra for a number of years in MI... this year it didn't work out for him to do that gig but otherwise you would have seen him. Have a great time! It's a really neat show.
And Happy Thanksgiving too!
