Trouble in La-La Land

Trenton has learned how to crawl out of his crib. It's amazing how high this boy can lift his leg up to the top rail. I nearly had a heart attack the other day when I went in his room to see why he wasn't settling down to go to sleep and I saw him hanging from his waist over the front of this crib! The boy is obviously fearless. He is getting a toddler bed tomorrow, but in the mean time we had to put pillows on the floor all around his crib and lots of blankets in case he decided to take a little fall during the night. I seriously have slept with my eye's and ears open at night to see if I hear him trying to get up, or listen for a thud. I can't live like this...we HAVE to get a toddler bed! Baraks parents are in town this weekend(perfect timing) so we called them because they have brenton's old toddler bed. so they are bringing it for us to use untill I figure out what kind of bed I want to get him. so I guess its one more night of constantly checking to see if he's asleep and not crawling out of the crib before I can rest easy. Now i'll just have to worry about him not staying in his new bed and trying to get up during the night to play.

::::::sigh:::::: does it ever end?

Can you lower the mattress any on the crib, or is it all the way down already?

With a toddler bed, many people will put a baby gate in the door so he can't get out. We never had to do that, but I've heard it works to at least keep them in their room.

Just be consistent and he will learn!

jessica...Yeah the mattress is down all the way. THe bed we are getting has rails on both sides so hopefully that will keep him in. but if not then i guess we have a lot of training to do!
