Who Doesn't Love A Good Yard Sale?!

So being the "thrifty" wife and Mother that I am, I decided that I would go to the Mom2Mom sale over in wyoming this morning. It took place in the big home school building and there were supposed to be like 100 tables of clothes, toys, baby equipment etc...all gently used and yard sale prices. Awesome! I read in the paper that admission was $1, but I figured, hey if I can get Trenton's entire fall/winter wardrobe done and out of the way it will be totally worth it. It wasn't. .. It started at 9AM and I wanted to get there right when it started so that I could have the best chances at getting the good stuff first! so I wake up at 7:00,even before TJ was up(unbelievable i know!) and I get ready and I get TJ ready and we are out the door by 8:10am. pretty good since Wyoming is 31 miles away. But I figured..hey, its worth the gas if I can get his entire fall/winter wardrobe out of the way...it wasn't...

So its 8:40ish and I get to the street that the building is on and already I know its going to be crowded since I had to wait to even turn into the parking lot. After driving around the huge lot about 8 times, I finally found a parking spot WAY in the back corner. So I turn into the spot only to realize it is made for a compact car, not a huge mini van. so, back to driving around. I get another spot just as far away and get out of the car and get the stroller set up and get my purse out and TJ's diaper bag and I get all that loaded into the stoller then I got TJ out and put him in. I can tell its going to be a long wait because people are lined up out the door. but its not 9:00 yet so its all good. I go and get in line and I'm standing there and this lady in front of me turns around and says really rude "I thought we weren't allowed to bring strollers in. I read that we weren't allowed to". uumm...okay. I didn't read that, but it could be. So I said "I didn't hear that, but I'll just take my chances and see what they say when I get in there" (mean lady turns back around and starts sipping her oversized Starbucks). I hate that place...but anyway.

I get inside and the admission lady says "no strollers allowed in till noon, you can park it over there" Mean lady turns around and smuggly makes a face like "i told you so". give me a break!.. So I parked the stroller and take everything out including TJ and i'm thinking, heaven help me because there is no way he's going to just stand there holding my hand while i shop. oh well, I don't have a choice so in I go.

This place is just jam packed with people and there is a radio station there broadcasting live. I start to look around but just getting a space at a table to look was hard so I just kind of browsed around till i found open holes. I did manage to find about 5 sweaters and some long sleeve t-shirts and a few toys. but everyone was just kind of elbowing there way around and poor trenton is getting trampled. people are sooo rude! I actually saw 2 ladies fighting over some girl clothes! after about an hour I had enough, of the pushing and elbowing and trenton crawling under the tables.(i knew I loved my stroller for some reason!) I paid for my stuff and left. so it really wasn't worth it because I didn't feel like I could really get in there and LOOK at stuff. maybe if I had come later in the day...but by then all the good stuff would have been gone. oh well. live and learn I guess.
